About Oni Itsuki

Itsuki is an onryō patriarch — a vengeful spirit that did not depart at death but stayed to command the lesser yokai of his bloodline. In Japanese folklore the onryō (怨霊) is the grudge-bearing dead, distinct from the gentler shiryō, and has driven Noh theatre's ghost tradition since the 14th century. Itsuki carries the spectral cat (a bakeneko, the cat that has lived past its natural span and gained two tails and a soul) as both companion and proof of dominion: when even the household cat has turned yokai, the master has crossed fully into the night. The trailing soul-smoke that forms his lower body recalls the tomoe wisps of Edo-period yūrei scrolls. A standout centrepiece for any Eastern-themed dark-fantasy collection.

Material and finish

Available on a 32 mm base (approx. 50–60 mm tall) or a 50 mm base (approx. 70–85 mm tall, including the spirit-tail base). Printed at 0.04 mm layer height in UV-cured photopolymer resin (grey). Unpainted; minor support cleanup may be needed. Ready for priming and painting.

At the table

A natural BBEG for D&D campaigns with an Eastern flavour (Kara-Tur, Wildemount or homebrew Edo-period settings), an onryō patron for warlock PCs, an oni daimyō villain for Bushido or Test of Honour, or the demon prince leading a hyakki yagyō night-parade encounter. Pair him with the eight yokai of the Oni Yokai faction to field a complete Japanese demon warband. Oni Itsuki is also the commander of the Oni Yokai Faction bundle — Itsuki plus the eight yokai — which costs about 9.5% less than buying the nine figures separately.
