Hannya — a torn-kimono demoness in the iconic horned mask, with a second hannya face on her shoulder and another belted at her waist, one arm replaced by a clawed centipede limb and asymmetric, inhuman legs. A Clay Cyanide sculpt, 3D printed in SLA resin for D&D and Japanese-horror tabletop games.

About Hannya

The hannya (般若) is the most famous mask in Noh theatre — codified by the maskmaker Hannya-bō and used in plays such as Aoi no Ue and Dōjōji to depict women whose jealousy has turned them into demons. The Dōjōji legend (compiled in the Konjaku Monogatari, 12th century) is the foundational hannya story: a woman spurned by her lover became a serpent-demon and burned him alive inside the Dōjōji temple bell. The triple mask of this sculpt is the Noh stage convention made flesh — three stages of hannya transformation (namanari, chūnari and honnari: the partly, the half and the fully demonic) worn at once. The centipede arm draws on the tradition around the jorōgumo (絡新婦, “binding bride”), in which female yokai grow insect limbs to drag victims into the lair. A signature Eastern-horror sculpt.

Material and finish

Available on a 32 mm base (approx. 40–50 mm tall — a slim demoness) or a 50 mm base (approx. 55–70 mm tall). Printed at 0.04 mm layer height in UV-cured photopolymer resin (grey). Unpainted; the centipede arm and the hair strands may need light support cleanup.

A natural BBEG demoness for D&D Eastern-horror campaigns, a vengeful-spirit antagonist for Bushido or Test of Honour, a horror figure for Lasting Tales or any narrative skirmish, or the set-piece of a haunted-shrine encounter. Pair her with the rest of the Oni Yokai faction. This figure is also part of the Oni Yokai Faction bundle — Oni Itsuki plus the eight yokai — which costs about 9.5% less than buying the nine figures separately.
